DESCRIPTION: Carbon steel ship-caulking irons. Working end width and overall length as noted. Straight without crease. Caulking iron may also be fabricated out of 1-1/2 inches x 1/8 inch (or 3/16 inch) flatbar approx 4 inches - 6 inches long, and sharpened on one end. DO NOT USE HARDENED STEEL. USE: Used to stop leaks by driving caulking into split seams or cracks. USE TIP: Wear safety glasses when striking chisel with hammer. Apply a light coat of oil prior to stowage to prevent rust.
