Oxygen Breathing Apparatus (OBA), Type A-1 Canisters Tip 002 Canister Disposal |
| Disposal of the Oxygen Breathing Apparatus Canister Prior to environmental protection laws the canister was disposed of by puncturing holes in the side and then soaking the canisters in a bucket of water until the bubbles stopped. Also when the ship was at-sea the canisters could be thrown over the side after puncturing holes as long as bilges were not being pumped or an oil sheen visible. |
